Enviroserve UAE, a pioneer in environmental management and waste recycling solutions and Kärcher Middle East, a global leader in cleaning technology, have announced a strategic partnership to advance the circular economy in the UAE. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the region’s journey towards a more sustainable future, transforming waste from a burden into a valuable resource.
“At Karcher, sustainability is not just a core value; it is fundamental to who we are,” says Joe Lahoud Regional President of Karcher Middle East. “This partnership with Enviroserve exemplifies our commitment to responsible waste management and our ambition to lead the way in the UAE’s transition to a circular economy. We are proud to collaborate with a like-minded organization that shares our values and vision for a sustainable future.”
This collaboration aligns with the UAE’s commitment to minimizing waste and environmental impact. Karcher and Enviroserve will recover valuable resources from all Karcher products, regardless of their origin – be it households, professional settings, or industrial environments. This commitment to resource recovery underscores Karcher’s global sustainability goals. The company aims to significantly reduce emissions further by 21% this year and 42% by 2030, based on 2020 levels.
Karcher’s dedication to sustainability is evident in its product design and manufacturing, prioritizing water conservation, energy efficiency, and zero emissions. Furthermore, all paper-based packaging at Karcher comprises at least 80% recycled paper, and by 2025, selected products will incorporate up to 50% recycled plastic content.
“We have a portfolio of over 1,000 cleaning solutions and products suitable for all cleaning applications, from pressure washers to industrial vacuum and even municipal sweepers. It is our duty towards the UAE and the Middle East region to ensure these are disposed off responsibly once they reach their end of life” Continued Lahoud.
Stuart Fleming, CEO of Enviroserve, says: “In this partnership with Karcher, Enviroserve will provide the collection, transportation, destruction, and environmentally sound recycling of their e-waste. This is a service we provide to many businesses, offering a zero-to-landfill process that is compliant with local regulations. Our integrated recycling hub, located in Dubai Industrial City, is equipped to handle 40,000 tons of e-waste annually, making it the largest facility of its kind in the region. In a world heavily dependent on electronic goods, the responsible disposal of e-waste should be a priority for all companies.. ”
In addition to extracting metals from the Karcher Products, Enviroserve will also provide IT asset disposal services for Kärcher, and process their dry recyclables such as plastic, paper and wood.
“Our integrated recycling hub located in Dubai Industrial City is equipped to handle all types of recyclables,” says Fleming. “It is a privilege for us to be able to come alongside Karcher and support them in their drive to promote sustainability.”
